Music / Entertainment

Reasons for entry in: Music
Because music has always been my life. I started in new music radio while still at school, and it was this experience and my knowledge gained that first made me stick out to my first music-show producer. I pride myself on my interviews and research. Knowing what I am talking about is the most important thing to me, which is why I have never hesitated to turn down offers to host reality tv shows, including the New Zealand franchise of American Idol.

Reasons for entry in: Entertainment
As Entertainment Reporter for TVNZ (New Zealand's equivalent of the
BBC) I had an open brief to research and front 5-7 minute features on
whatever took my fancy. Covering topics such as local and
international musicians, actors and directors, industry issues
(declining cd sales, live venue noise matters), trends (rise of online
radio/podcasting etc) as well as conducting live crosses from events
such as the Film and Television Awards, and the red carpet of the Lord
of The Rings world Premiere.

Previous Presenting Work:
For the past 13 years I have hosted live and pre-recorded music and entertainment shows, been an Entertainment reporter for New Zealand's BBC equivalent TVNZ, researched and fronted documentaries, a travel show to Mongolia, a ghost investigation show as well as one off music specials and live awards ceremonies.

Current Occupation: Freelance production assistant

Date of Birth: 05/02/1978

Interests / Passions:
Clearly I love music, as well as wider pop culture - film, new media, television. I also happen to love aviation, i have my private pilots licence, and love cooking.

Comments:
I have always been picky about what I have hosted, even choosing not to do commercial voice overs for products I don't think much of. This is not to be an up myself fool, simply because I have never wanted to be a presenter for presenting sake. Don't get me wrong - I love presenting as well as the production of television (and radio) it's just that I believe presenters should have an understanding of, and believe in, what they are doing.

In my native New Zealand (however I hold a UK passport) I had a reputation as a personable interviewer, able to put most people at ease in live studio and location situations.
